Waynetown - Mrs. Iva Fruits, a resident of the Knights of Pythias Home at Lafayette, received word of the death of her sister, Mrs. Elva Elsie (McBroom) Shook 79 of Mount Vernon, Wash. Mrs. Shook, 79, was born August 1, 1886, in Montgomery County and died Oct 13, 1965. Her parents were Charles and Ella McBroom. She was married to Edgar Shook who died many years ago. Surviving Mrs. Shook are one brother, Harold McBroom of Siren, Wisconsin and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Lamberton, Augusta, Wis; Mrs. Maybelle Townsend, Marysville, Wash and Mrs. Fruits who is a former resident of Waynetown. Funeral services were held at the Kern Funeral Home, Mount Vernon with Rev. Fred Fox officiating. Burial was in the Mount Vernon Cemetery.
